Nitrile rubber is a copolymer of Butadiene and Acrylonitrile, produced by the emulsion polymerisation process, and the 'hot' and 'cold' polymer are available on the market.
Nitrile rubber possesses oil resistance, fatty and aromatic hydrocarbons, and good vegetable oils, but is swollen by polar solvents such as ketones. Unsaturated mains implies that protection against oxygen, ozone and ultraviolet light is required.
Application:
Due to the good oil resistance, Nitrile rubber is widely used in sealing applications, lining in pipes, axle wrap, conveyor belt, shoe soles and lining equipment.
